  1. Today is Day #6 on the schedule.
  2. GOOD LUCK to the JH boys this afternoon against West Sioux here at home.
  3. CONGRATULATIONS to our New Moon book club winners: Movie Pass – Makenzie Harms; Free large popcorn – Morgan Konz; Free pizza – Janet Lamb. The Book Club will meet in the parking lot at 11:47 tomorrow to attend the New Moon movie. See Mrs. Lamb for more information.
  4. STUDENT COUNCIL PAC committee meeting today during advisement in Mrs. Schubert’s room.
  5. LETTER JACKET orders are due today.
  6. FRESHMAN please show up right after school today to decorate for the middle school dance tonight. If you all show up to help, you’ll finish quickly.
  7. Anyone interested in ordering PEP BAND t-shirts, please place your order and payment with Mr. Anderson by Monday, Nov. 23 at 3:30. All orders must be turned in to Mr. Anderson.
  8. HAVE CLUB fruit will be delivered Monday, November 30.
  9. The water bottles are here! RU drinking enough water? Thank you to all who ordered. Your bottles are in your locker. Take them home and wash them before using them. Paint pens are available in study hall to write your name or initials on your bottle. If you missed the pre-order sale you may still purchase a water bottle from Mrs. Lamb for $5.00 each. Water bottles will also be available to purchase at home basketball games. (Water bottles are food grade are food grade materials and BPA free. Hand wash only as dishwasher may damage. Do not microwave. Do not overfill. Hot liquids (especially over 140 degrees )may scald user.
  10. Any HS student who is interested in running the scoreboard for JH basketball games, please see Mr. Neuberger. This is a paid position.
  11. The deadline to register for an on-line college course or PSEO is Monday, Nov. 23.
  12. Students in grades 5-8 are invited to work with the residents of Bavarian Meadows to create decorations for a Christmas tree to be displayed during Remsen’s Festival of Trees. These “trim a tree” workshops will be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, December 1, 2 and 3 immediately after school. Anyone wanting more information may pick up a flyer from Mrs. Lamb.

Andrew Poeckes Receives Award

Remsen-Union senior, Andrew Poeckes has been recognized as a National Merit Scholarship Semifiinalist. This is a very prestigious award given to a very few select high school students in the United States. We are very proud of you Andrew, and wish you the best of luck in continuing on in the award process. Shown with Andrew are Remsen-Union School Board members, Cheri Nitzschke, Theresa VanDam, Shirley Shroeder and Travis Tentinger.
