  1. College Reps-Sign up on Counseling Office door.  Have Passports signed.

  2. Student who have taken a c ollege campus visit must turn in their signed visit form in order to keep their ‘free’ college visit day.  Please get those forms to Ms. Mikkelson.  
  3. BASEBALL PLAYERS GET YOUR HAT SIZES TO Coach Nonnemacher or Coach Butcher ASAP.  We need to get them ordered as they take a while to get them back. If you do not know your size, try one on in Coach Nonnemacher’s room.
  4. Senior Night for winter sports will be Friday, February 3.  S enior thank yous need to be turned i nto the main office by Monday, January 30 at lunch time or they will not be typed in the program.  This includes basketball players, managers, cheerleaders, dance and pep band.
  5. Coaches vs Cancer Night will also be Friday, February 3.  There will be a silent auction where all money raised will be given to this cause.
  6. RU Alive will meet in the auditorium at 6:30 pm, Sunday, January 29.  Bring Your Own Friend Night. There will be a guest speaker.
  7. The HAVE Sweetheart Royalty will be introduced during ½ time of the Girls’ BB game on February 3.  Following the Boys’ basketball game, coronation will be held in the gym. Sweetheart Dance will follow until midnight with music by Jammin’ Entertainment.
  8. Driver’s Ed students :  The February 7th class will be rescheduled , due to a JH Girls’ BB game.
  9. Sweetheart Court please have your bios turned into Mrs. Patterson by Friday., January 27!
  10. There will be an NHS meeting this Friday, Jan. 27th during advisement to discuss trip options.  
  11. There will be a DECA meeting during lunch today.  Bring your trays to Mr. Niles’ room.
  12. Congratulations to Kendra Hagert !  on setting an MMC/RU school record in Bowling yesterday.   Kendra rolled a 189 and a 243.  WAY TO GO!!!!

The Remsen-Union Community School District has a stable student enrollment of approximately 360 students. The district is served by 44 teachers, two administrators,and 29 support staff. At Remsen-Union the administration, Board of Education, teachers and staff share in the commitment to strive toward excellence in all our academic and extracurricular activities to enable all students to reach their full potential!

DECA Begins Spring Fruit Sale

The Remsen-Union DECA members are beginning their spring fruit sale. All profits from the sale will help the members raise funds needed to attend the DECA State Career Development Conference February 25-27, 2012. The fruit that is being offered can be seen by clicking the link below.

If interested in buying fruit, please contact Mr. Niles and leave an via email. Please include your name and phone number in the email.

Orders are due by February 24, 2012 and the order will be delivered the 2nd or 3rd week of March.

Listed below is a link for a change in scheduling procedures for the 2012-2013 schedule.  Please respond to survey and give your input. The largest change you will find with the survey- Have all MS Athletic Practices now move to after school time, which will allow for some changes in the MS Schedule

2nd Annual Dodgeball Tournament

The Remsen-Union Senior class is sponsoring the 2nd Annual Dodgeball Tournament. The tournament will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 and will begin with team registration at 8:45 am. Click the links below to obtain the necessary forms.

Sign Up for District Text Announcements

Remsen-Union is using a new messaging system this year to relay important announcements. The system is through the Le Mars Daily Sentinel and will typically send out the alert or information within 30 seconds to one minute. If you would like this free system on your cell phone, go the Le Mars Sentinel web site http://www.lemarssentinel.com/ and click the text alert tab.
